This policy explains what information Building Connections collects, how we use it, and who we share it with. Building Connections is a referral service operated by Mark VanDusen in Western New York.

Information we collect

When you fill out our form, talk with us in person, or contact us by phone, text, or email, we may collect:

• Your name, phone number, email address, and property address
• The type of project you need help with and any details you share about it
• Photos of the outside of your home, taken with your permission, to show a contractor the problem

Our website may also collect basic technical information, such as your browser type and general location, through our hosting provider for security and performance.

How we use your information

• To match you with contractors who may be able to help with your project
• To contact you about your request by phone, text, or email
• To follow up and make sure you were contacted and treated well
• To keep business and tax records

Who we share it with

Contractors. Sharing your information with contractors is the core of our service. When you request help, we share your contact details and project information with one or more independent contractors who may be able to do the work. Those contractors pay us for referrals. Once a contractor has your information, their own privacy practices apply to how they use it.

Service providers. We use trusted tools to run the business, such as Google (forms and record keeping), Stripe (contractor payments), and Cloudflare (website hosting). They handle data only to provide those services.

Legal reasons. We may share information if required by law or to protect our rights or the safety of others.

We do not sell your information to data brokers or to unrelated marketers.

Text messages

If you agree to receive texts, we or the contractors we refer may text you about your project. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP at any time to opt out. We do not share your mobile number or text consent with third parties for their own marketing.

How long we keep it

We keep your information as long as needed to handle your request and to keep required business and tax records. You can ask us to delete it at any time, as described below.

Your choices

You can ask us to see, correct, or delete the information we have about you, or to stop contacting you. Just call, text, or email us using the contact details below. We cannot delete information a contractor already received, but we will tell you which contractors received it so you can contact them.

How we protect it

We store records in password-protected accounts and limit access to what is needed to run the business. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.

Children

Our services are for homeowners and adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
